The more and more I've reviewed old footage of snap shooting clinics and myself snap shooting, I've came to a big realization on gun and body positioning.

The reason I preach staying squared up is it allows us to easily switch sides and engage. A key factor I was missing is where my body weight is focused. If you notice, I'm always slightly leaning forward. Unless I'm in a super defensive position fighting for my life, I've engaged my body in almost a fighting-like stance.
